The Power and the Presence
Experience Better Connections with Everybody, Every Time
“Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people.”
~Carl Jung “The likeness of God means that all inherencies and qualities of God, all His ideas and potentialities, are implanted within His image. The nature of the image is exactly like the nature of its source; that is, the nature of people is exactly like the nature of God.” ~Nona Brooks A Tale of Two Mindsets
Inside of all of us, there are two opposing qualities – the Power and the Presence. They are like two pairs of colored glasses through which we view the world around us and everyone in it, who are also wearing their glasses, looking at their world, and back at us. Sometimes we are seeing things through the Power lenses, and other times the Presence lenses. The important thing is, we don’t know we’re even wearing these glasses, and so we can’t tell which ones we’re looking through at any given moment, and we certainly can’t consciously switch between them. They just show up, seemingly changing our view back and forth with random regularity. And this is a problem. Find out what your human glasses are showing you, how they are helping or hindering you, and how you can change them at will, so that what you see – and how others see you – is what serves everybody best. Your life will never be the same. But in a good way, of course. ~Rev Shaun Furlong |
